Another 1,200 bodies of the dead returned to Ukraine: Coordination Headquarters publishes details of repatriation

Ukraine received another 1,200 bodies of the dead, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including servicemen of the Defense Forces. Relevant information made public Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

According to the Coordination Headquarters, the Russian Federation handed over another 1,200 bodies of the dead to Ukraine, declaring that they belonged to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel. The next stage of repatriation measures took place within the framework of the agreements reached in Istanbul.

“In the near future, law enforcement investigators together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will carry out all the necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.” – said the Coordination Headquarters.

In addition, the headquarters noted that the repatriation measures were carried out as a result of the joint work of employees of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, other structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine, and also with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

As of the time of publication, no official statements from the Russian side regarding the holding of these events have been received.
