OKKO owner starts construction of new ski resort in Lviv region
Companies owned by OKKO Group owner Vitaly Antonov have started construction of the first phase of a new mountain resort in the Lviv region. This is reported in the press release of the OKKO company, which received “Economic truth”.
The new resort called GORO Mountain Resort will be located at the foot of the Vysoky Verkh massif at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level, near the villages of Volosyanka and Verkhnya Rozhanka, which are part of the Slavska OTG.
The total area of the resort will be about 1,200 hectares. Of these, 360 hectares will be allocated for skiing infrastructure, and more than 800 hectares – for hotel, commercial and recreational facilities. During the next 15 years, it is planned to build 41 ski tracks, the longest cable car in Ukraine with a length of 2.8 kilometers and a ski track with a length of 3.8 kilometers. In general, the OKKO group plans to build 25 hotels with 5,500 rooms.
The construction of the first phase with an area of 127 hectares has already begun near the village of Volosyanka, 5 km from Slavsky. Work is already underway on the construction of the Welcome Center and the lower station of the gondola cableway. It is also planned to create 10 ski tracks with a total length of 13 km and two chairlifts.
The first stage includes the construction of five hotels with 1,100 rooms, as well as infrastructure with recreational areas, spas, swimming pools, restaurants, children’s and business areas. Construction of this part of the resort is expected to be completed in 2028-2029.
The total investment in the resort is estimated at 1.5 billion dollars, of which 1 billion is planned to be raised from investors.
We will remind that Vitaly Antonov, the owner of the concern “Galnaftogaz”, started the construction of a new year-round resort in Slavske, changing the registration of a legal entity from Lviv to Slavske in 2017, so that taxes would go to the local budget. During 2020, Antonov’s companies received more than 300 hectares of land on the territory of Slavska OTG. The idea of creating a resort that will surpass “Bukovel” caused a mixed reaction among local businessmen.
