Another country can help with the return of Ukrainian children taken to Russia

Already 36 countries have joined the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. The list of countries that will help return small citizens of Ukraine forcibly deported to Russia is gradually expanding. Argentina is currently considering the possibility of joining the coalition.

This was reported by Daria Gerasymchuk, the authorized representative of the President of Ukraine for child rights and child rehabilitation. This week, a Ukrainian delegation led by Mrs. Gerasimchuk visited the South American country as part of the “Stolen Voices” information campaign. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized several meetings of the delegation with representatives of the authorized bodies of Argentina. The country’s authorities assure that they are ready to help return Ukrainian children to the Motherland.

“The Argentinian side assured that it is considering the possibility of joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. During the meeting at the National Congress of Argentina, the Ukrainian delegation learned about the project of the Ukrainian declaration on Argentina joining the coalition. The corresponding document was prepared by a group of Argentine parliamentarians. The side expressed its gratitude and hope for adoption of this initiative as soon as possible”, – informed Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The delegation also included Ukrainian teenagers who managed to return from Russia. This is Vladyslav Buryak, who spent 90 days in Russian captivity and testified about the torture that the Russian military used on Ukrainian civilians. Ivan Matkovsky, who was forcibly taken to Donetsk and tried to be given up for adoption in a territory not controlled by Ukraine, also came to the meeting with the Argentine parliamentarians.
