ARMA announced the start of the process of selling the seized Russian tanker Nika Spirit

The Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) announced the beginning of the process of realization of the arrested Russian tanker Nika Spirit. About November 18 reported the head of ARMA Olena Duma in the Telegram channel.

As the Duma explained, this decision was made following the results of a meeting of the tender commission dealing with the sale of seized assets. She emphasized that in accordance with the approved procedure, ARMA will first hold a competition to select the company that will be responsible for the sale of this asset. Next, this seller organizes another competition – to find an independent evaluator of the Nika Spirit tanker.

After the completion of all evaluation procedures, the tanker will be put up for sale through the electronic system Prozorro.Sales. According to the Duma, the use of this platform will ensure maximum transparency and competitiveness during the sale of this valuable asset, which previously belonged to Russian owners.

The Duma also emphasized that the sale of seized property through Prozorro.Prodazhi has repeatedly proven its effectiveness. This approach ensures stable revenues to the state budget of Ukraine, part of which is directed, in particular, to the purchase of military bonds to support the country’s defense capabilities.

According to Elena Duma, the sale of the Nika Spirit tanker is a successful example and paves the way for large-scale and rapid financial inflows to the state budget in wartime conditions.

It will be recalled that the Russian tanker Nika Spirit, which was previously known as Neyma, was detained on July 24, 2019 in the port of Izmail. The Equasis International Information System identified the vessel with IMO number 8895528 as the one used to block the Kerch Strait in November 2018. After the investigation, on July 29, 2019, the Primorsky District Court of Odesa issued a decision to arrest the tanker, and since then it has been under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.
