ARMA reports new assets of MSEC officials involved in corruption schemes

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has found the first assets belonging to five MSEK officials suspected of corruption. This was announced by the head of ARMA, Olena Duma.

According to her, the National Agency is actively cooperating with law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies to identify and trace assets of medical professionals, employees of the RTCC, JV, VLC and MSEC, who may be involved in corruption schemes. In particular, it is a case of forging medical documents for conscripts, which granted them the status of a disabled person and allowed them to avoid being called up for service.

The ARMA has already identified the following assets of the five defendants and their associates:

  • 128 residential and non-residential properties (residential buildings, apartments in regional centres, apartments, entertainment facilities, garages, offices)
  • 140 land plots (intended for residential construction, agriculture and gardening);
  • 30 cars, including premium brands such as Lexus and Tesla;
  • corporate rights worth over UAH 20 million (in particular, in energy and construction companies);
  • significant cash on bank accounts;
  • weapons.

The defendants acquired most of these assets during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, registering them in the names of their close associates.

This is just the beginning. The National Agency has already submitted requests to a dozen banking institutions to identify the assets of the defendants in the criminal proceedings both in Ukraine and abroad,’ said Olena Duma.

All data on the assets found have already been transferred to the relevant law enforcement agencies. The ARMA is also ready to take over the management of these illegally acquired assets and is awaiting the relevant court decisions to transfer the assets into management.
