Russia launched a missile strike on a Ukrainian military training ground in the Kherson region: there are dead and wounded

On June 22, the Russian army launched a missile attack on the training ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region. According to detailed information from the Ground Forces, the strike was carried out at a time when military personnel were training at the training ground. As a result of the attack, at least three soldiers were killed, 14 more were wounded of varying degrees of severity. About this reported in the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The command of the Ground Forces stated that thanks to a timely air alarm signal, the main part of the personnel had time to disperse and move to shelters, which made it possible to avoid significantly larger losses.

Spokesman of the Ground Forces Vitaly Saranskyi on the telethon “Edyny Novyny” confirmed, which is about a temporary training ground, where servicemen are not permanently stationed, but arrive only to perform training tasks. He also noted that the strike was carried out by a missile of the Iskander-M complex. Some of the personnel who did not comply with safety measures were injured – it was among them that most of the victims were injured.

“Unfortunately, there were some soldiers who neglected security measures – most of them were injured,” Saransky said.

The command expressed its condolences to the families and relatives of the fallen servicemen and informed that all the wounded are being provided with qualified medical assistance. A special commission was created to find out all the circumstances of the incident. Law enforcement agencies are also on site. In addition, additional security measures are being taken to protect personnel in case of possible repeated attacks.

We will remind you that this shelling was the second attack on the training units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the last month. On June 1, Russian troops attacked one of the training centers of the Armed Forces in Dnipropetrovsk region. Then 12 soldiers died, more than 60 were wounded. After this tragedy, the then commander of the Ground Forces, Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, resigned, calling his decision a “conscious step” due to a sense of responsibility for the event.
