As a result of an audit of a leading railway cargo carrier, violations worth UAH 120 million were found
Specialists of the State Audit Service of Ukraine discovered financial violations in the amount of over 120 million hryvnias during the inspection of the activities of the Kyiv-Dnipro inter-industry enterprise of industrial railway transport. About this informs press service of the department.
Among the key violations is the provision of unjustified discounts on transport services to private companies, which caused the company to miss about 20 million hryvnias in revenue.
Also, due to the lack of registration of land plots, the company had to pay almost 40 million hryvnias of additional land tax. The auditors note that the lack of title documents for 169 plots with a total area of 225 hectares creates a risk of losing these assets due to illegal alienation, self-grabbing or raiding.
Separately, it was established that the enterprise did not use a significant number of freight cars for six years, which led to the loss of 5 million hryvnias of potential income. The facts of non-fulfillment of paid repair works, overestimation of their cost by the amount of almost 8 million hryvnias, and the conclusion of contracts contrary to the interests of the enterprise were also revealed. This caused additional costs for payment of fines and court fees in the amount of about 13 million hryvnias.
The State Audit Service emphasized that the materials of the conducted audit have already been handed over to law enforcement agencies for further response and possible opening of criminal proceedings.
