As a result of the Shahed attack in the Kyiv region, two people were injured, including a French citizen

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) filed a lawsuit against the Donald Trump administration, as well as officials Kari Lake and Victor Morales. RFE/RL seeks to stop the attempt to terminate the federal grant. About this it is said in a statement to RFE/RL.

The lawsuit states that denying funding to RFE/RL, for which funds have been appropriated by Congress, is a violation of federal law, including the US Constitution, which gives Congress the exclusive right to dispose of federal spending. The case will be heard by the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

“Now is not the time to cede territory to the propaganda and censorship of America’s opponents. We believe that the law is on our side and that the celebration of our demise by despots around the world is premature.” said RFE/RL CEO Stephen Kapus.

It will be recalled that on March 16, the US Agency for Global Media stopped providing grants to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, which broadcasts to the countries of Eastern Europe, in particular Russia and Ukraine, as well as to Radio Free Asia, which broadcasts to China and North Korea. The move drew widespread criticism from free speech and human rights advocates over the weekend.

More than 1,300 Voice of America employees were also furloughed after US President Donald Trump ordered the shutdown of state-funded media outlet USAGM and six other federal agencies.
