At night, drones attacked Moscow and other regions of the Russian Federation

On the night of May 6, the Russian authorities announced a massive drone attack on Moscow and a number of other regions. Temporary restrictions were imposed at several airports.
The mayor of Moscow Serhii Sobyanin announced the attack on the capital of the Russian Federation. According to him, at 01:16, Russian air defenses allegedly shot down five drones heading for the city. Later, he added that another device was destroyed. 40 minutes later, Sobyanin reported the shooting down of three more drones, and at 02:17 the total number of shot down increased by ten. According to him, drones flew to Moscow from different directions.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Oleksandr Gusev, announced the shooting down of 20 drones over the region that same night. Residents of the Lipetsk region reported the intensive work of anti-aircraft defense. In addition, the “red level” of the threat of air danger has been declared in the Ryazan, Tambov and Tula regions.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported the destruction of 105 drones. In particular, 32 drones were shot down over Bryansk Oblast, 22 over Voronezh, 19 over Moskovskaya, 10 over Penza, 9 over Kaluga, 6 over Bilhorod. Two drones each were destroyed over Lipetsk and Samara regions, one each over Volodymyr, Kursk and Rostov regions.
Starting at 01:20, Rosaviatsia began to introduce restrictions for the operation of airports. Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Sheremetyevo airports in the Moscow region, as well as airports in the Kaluga, Volgograd, Saratov and Samara regions, suspended the reception and departure of flights. In the morning, these restrictions were lifted.
