Russia begins fines for photos and videos of Ukrainian drone attacks
In the Kaluga and Tula regions of Russia, local authorities began imposing fines on residents and journalists for publishing photos and videos of Ukrainian drone strikes on social media. This is reported by rosZMI.
According to the government of the Kaluga region, as of the beginning of June, 42 administrative protocols were submitted to the courts for violation of the ban on disseminating information about the consequences of drone crashes. In two cases, the mass media became involved in the cases, in five – local residents. Also, three protocols are related to comments on social networks. Others concern administrators or owners of Telegram channels, VKontakte pages, and authors of personal accounts.
In the region, fines ranging from 3,000 to 200,000 rubles are provided for those who violate the ban. So far, only one case of punishment has been recorded in the Tula region: at the end of May, a local resident was fined 25,000 rubles for publishing a video of an attack by Ukrainian drones on the city of Aleksyn in the Telegram messenger.
It will be recalled that on June 8, a drone hit the “Azot” chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula region, which caused a fire. “Azot Novomoskovsk Joint Stock Company” is the largest producer of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers in Russia and one of the industry leaders in terms of product range. The enterprise produces mineral fertilizers, ammonia, organic plastics and resins, chlorine, caustic soda, calcium chloride, concentrated and especially pure nitric acid, argon and methanol.
