At the meeting of the UN Security Council, Lavrov demanded the removal of all threats from Russia

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry is convinced that the West poses a danger to his country.

At the meeting of the UN Security Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Serhiy Lavrov stated that the political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis surrounding Ukraine should be accompanied by concrete steps aimed at eliminating threats to Russia.

“The political and diplomatic settlement must be accompanied by concrete steps to remove threats to the Russian Federation originating from the Western, Euro-Atlantic direction”, said Lavrov.

He emphasized that during the coordination of mutual guarantees and agreements, it is necessary to take into account new geostrategic realities on the Eurasian continent, where a continental architecture of equal and indivisible security is being formed.

“We are ready to find a balance of interests”, – added the Russian minister.

Lavrov also accused the United States and its allies of hindering international cooperation and building a fairer world. He noted that Washington “has done everything to undermine the foundations of mutually beneficial energy cooperation between Russia and Germany and Europe in general.” The minister also expressed concern about US intentions to deploy long-range weapons in Germany, saying that Washington is preparing a “killer role” for Europe.

To restore trust and stabilize the international situation, Lavrov called for such measures as eliminating injustices in the world economy, carrying out “serious, qualitative changes” in the institutions of global governance, primarily the UN, as well as strengthening the role of other multilateral and regional associations, such as ” Group of twenty”, BRICS and SCO.
