Audio lessons about prominent and talented Ukrainians were created for school students

Audio lessons about prominent Ukrainians became available to schoolchildren within the project “Our own, Ukrainian, unstudied”, which is implemented by the public organization “Smart Education”. The unique format allows you to learn about the achievements of Ukrainian historians, inventors, scientists, artists and businessmen through biographies presented in a convenient audio format. This series of lessons is intended for both children and adults, as well as for teachers and parents who want to introduce the younger generation to the rich historical heritage.
Features and convenience of audio lessons
The project was created taking into account modern educational needs, because it is better to learn information in an interesting and convenient way. Audio lessons help children to better understand the material that they can listen to anytime and anywhere – at home, on a walk, on the road or even in a bomb shelter. On the project website, for each lesson, the recommended class and time when schoolchildren should familiarize themselves with the biographies of the figures is indicated, which contributes to the effective integration of these materials into the educational process.
Topics of audio lessons and first stories
The project involves the creation of 15 audio lessons, work on which is still ongoing. Among the currently available lessons, you can find stories about such outstanding Ukrainians as:
- actor Ivan Mykolaichuk, who opened new facets of Ukrainian cinema with his creativity;
- the philanthropic Tereshchenko family, known for its charitable activities and support of culture;
- the philanthropic Simyrenko family, which contributed to the development of agricultural science;
- historian Oleksandra Yefimenko, who made a significant contribution to the study of Ukrainian history;
- pedagogue Sofia Rusova, who introduced progressive educational methods;
- physicist Ivan Pului, a pioneer in the study of X-rays;
- aircraft designer Ihor Sikorsky, whose innovative developments became the basis of modern aviation;
- artist Oleksandr Murashko, who is known for his unique style and contribution to the development of Ukrainian art;
- composer Myroslav Skoryk, whose works have become a symbol of Ukrainian musical culture.
Distance learning and possibilities of the project “Learn with your ears”
Digital technologies have already become an important element of modern education, and the “Learn with your ears” project successfully uses their potential. As part of this initiative, more than 500 free audio lessons have been created, which cover the topics of the history of Ukraine, Crimea, world history, Ukrainian language and literature. These lessons are designed for students in grades 6-11 and are especially helpful during power outages, shelter-in-place, or for students studying abroad.
The average duration of one lesson is 15-20 minutes, which helps to maintain attention and absorb the material optimally. Each audio lesson is accompanied by a small task: a test or a topic for an essay, which helps to consolidate knowledge and assess the level of mastery of the material.
Availability of audio lessons on various platforms
For the convenience of users, audio lessons are available not only on the official website, but also on popular podcast and video platforms: YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, NV Podcast, Megogo. This approach makes educational materials available to the widest possible audience and allows you to listen to them at a convenient time.
The project “Our own, Ukrainian, unstudied” is a unique opportunity to get to know the outstanding personalities of Ukraine in a convenient audio format. It not only promotes the popularization of history and culture, but also helps the new generation of Ukrainians to form a deep understanding of the heritage of their people.
