Biden made a farewell foreign policy speech

US President Joe Biden spoke with a farewell speech, summarizing the results of his four-year work in office, in particular in the context of foreign policy and support for Ukraine.
Biden noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not achieve any of his strategic goals in Ukraine, while the Ukrainians, with the support of the United States, did not let their state be destroyed and invaded.
“When Putin invaded Ukraine, he thought he could conquer Kyiv in a matter of days. But the truth is that since this war began, I am the only one standing in the center of Kyiv, not him.” – emphasized Biden.
According to him, after the start of Russia’s aggression, he faced two key tasks: to unite the world in support of Ukraine and to prevent a war between two nuclear powers. Biden believes that these tasks have been accomplished, and the laid foundation will provide the next administration with the opportunity to protect the “bright future of the Ukrainian people.”
The US president also emphasized that during his presidency, US international alliances have become the strongest in recent decades. He noted that NATO is now more capable than ever, and that 23 of the Alliance’s countries spend 2% of their GDP on defense, compared to just nine four years ago.
