Britain has trained 200 Ukrainian aviators before training on the F-16

In Great Britain, 200 Ukrainian aviators completed the basic training necessary for further training on F-16 fighters. About this informs Embassy of Great Britain in Ukraine. The training was carried out within the framework of the Interstorm operation.

“200 Ukrainian aviators underwent basic flight, ground and language training in Great Britain before training on the F-16. Royal Air Force instructors taught pilots general aircraft handling, instrument flying, low-altitude navigation and complex formation flying“, the message says.

Earlier, British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons stated that, although the country does not have F-16 fighter jets in its arsenal, it provides basic training for Ukrainian pilots. According to her, such training is designed to increase the combat readiness of pilots in a shorter period of time.

We will remind you that starting in 2025, Norwegian military instructors will join the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters. The training will take place in Portugal. Earlier, Norway announced the transfer of six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, the first of which have already arrived this year. At the same time, Denmark delivered the second batch of its 19 promised F-16s in early December 2024.
