Canada has increased its contribution to the Energy Fund of Ukraine

The Government of Canada additionally contributed 33.4 million euros (50 million Canadian dollars) to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. Canada’s total contribution to the Fund now stands at €40.1 million (C$60 million). About this informs Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The ministry noted that these funds will be used to purchase equipment needed to restore the energy infrastructure after enemy attacks, as well as to ensure the stable operation of Ukraine’s energy system.

In addition, part of Canada’s new contribution will go to support the energy supply of critical social infrastructure, particularly in the health sector, through the development of solar generation systems.

“As Russia continues its relentless attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure that aim to leave millions without electricity, water and heat, Canada is proud to strengthen its partnership with the Energy Community Secretariat to continue the important work they are doing to help Ukraine rebuild its critical infrastructure.” – said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Melanie Jolie.
