China is considering selling US assets of “TikTok” to Elon Musk

Chinese officials are considering selling the US unit of TikTok to billionaire Elon Musk if the company cannot avoid the threat of a ban in the US. About this informs Bloomberg.

Chinese authorities prefer that TikTok remain under the control of parent company Bytedance. However, the company is currently challenging the ban by appealing to the US Supreme Court.

One option suggests that Musk’s social media platform X could take control of TikTok’s US operations and run the business together. However, the discussion of this scenario is still at an early stage, and a final decision has not been made.

We will remind that last week the Supreme Court of the United States was inclined to support legislation that may require either the sale or the ban of “TikTok” in the United States by January 19. The court focused on national security issues related to China, which led to the restrictive measures against the app.
