China remains the unchanged leader among Ukraine’s import partners: customs data

The turnover of Ukraine in the first eight months of 2024 reached 72.6 billion dollars, showing a significant increase in August — by 10.9 billion dollars. About this informs press service of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

During this period, goods worth 45.1 billion dollars were imported into Ukraine, which is 6 billion more compared to the previous month. Export operations amounted to 27.5 billion dollars, an increase of 4.9 billion dollars.

Total taxed imports amounted to 37.8 billion dollars, which is equal to 84% of the total volume of imported goods. Accordingly, the share of tax-free imports is 16%.

The countries from which Ukraine received the most imports are China — $8.9 billion, Poland — $4.5 billion, and Germany — $3.4 billion.

As for exports, most Ukrainian products were sent to Poland – $3.1 billion, Spain – $1.9 billion, and China – also $1.9 billion.

If compared with previous data for seven months of 2024, the turnover then amounted to 61.7 billion dollars. The main importing countries at that time were: China – 7.7 billion dollars, Poland – 4 billion dollars and Germany – 3.1 billion dollars.
