Power reset: ministers and the head of the State Property Fund have submitted applications for dismissal

On September 3, a large-scale reboot began in the Ukrainian government. In one day, five ministers submitted their resignations to the Verkhovna Rada. Head of the “Servant of the People” faction, Davyd Arakhamia confirmed, that this week we can expect significant changes in the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular, the replacement of more than half of its members.

“The great reboot of the government has begun, and more than 50% of the composition will undergo changes. Tomorrow is the day of dismissals, the day after tomorrow is the day of appointments”, – said Arahamiya.

According to him, the final list of ministers to be replaced will be determined at the meeting of the faction on September 4.

Among those who have already written a statement of resignation are:

  • Denis Malyuska, the Minister of Justice, who has held the position since 2019 and was reappointed after the resignation of Honcharuk’s government. According to People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak, Malyuska does not plan to get a new position, and the Ministry of Justice may be added to the portfolio of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Olga Stefanishyna.
  • Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries, submitted his resignation after a year of work. According to him, he is preparing for a closed report before the committees, but he is not leaving the defense sector and will continue to work in another role. It is expected that one of his deputies, in particular Serhiy Boyev, or the current head of Ukroboronprom, Herman Smetanin, may be appointed in his place.
  • Ruslan Strelets, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, also submitted his resignation, which will be considered at the next plenary meeting. His position became another object of discussion of possible changes in the composition of the government.
  • The Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories also announced her resignation Iryna Vereshchuk.

In addition, it became known that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine may be dismissed in the near future Dmytro Kulebu. Currently, his possible successor – the first deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – is being discussed Andriy Sybiga.

He also submitted a resignation letter Vitaly Koval, head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that all applications will be considered at the next plenary meeting.
