Coca-Cola has announced the launch of a new drink in the US, sweetened with American cane sugar. About this it is said in the company report.
The novelty will appear on the market in the fall of 2025. The company notes that the product will be an addition to its “powerful assortment” and will provide consumers with “more choice for all occasions.”
The launch partially echoes the statement of US President Donald Trump, who previously announced an agreement reached with Coca-Cola on the transition to the use of cane sugar in the production of beverages in the domestic market.
For decades, Coca-Cola used corn syrup as its primary sweetener in the US. Meanwhile, a more expensive version of the cane sugar drink imported from Mexico became popular with American consumers.
According to analysts, the company is unlikely to completely switch to cane sugar, but instead will launch a new premium line. This approach will make it possible to meet the demand for more “natural” products without sacrificing profitability. Coca-Cola also reported an increase in net income for the second quarter of 2025 to $12.5 billion, up 1% year-over-year.
