Coca-Cola recalls 28 million bottles of beverages in Austria due to small pieces of metal

The Coca-Cola Company has decided to recall approximately 28 million half-liter bottles of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and MezzoMix from sale in Austria due to possible contamination of small pieces of metal in the drinks. The reason was a technical failure in production, during which, according to the Austrian media, a special strainer for bottling drinks could break. This was reported by the agency ARA.
According to the report, this recall is the largest in the history of the country: throughout Austria, products with expiration dates of February 4, 2025 and April 12, 2025 with the WP label are being returned to the factory. The company assured that buyers will be refunded even without presenting a check.
Coca-Cola has a strong production history in Austria, where the company’s plant has been operating for 95 years and supplies the market with 471 million liters of beverages annually.
It is interesting that, despite the company’s announcement to withdraw from the Russian market, Coca-Cola’s division in Russia has quadrupled its profits over the past year, continuing to work under the new “Good Cola” brand.
