Complaints about bullying in the Armed Forces of Ukraine came from 22 brigades: People’s Deputy Anna Skorokhod

The temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada, which deals with violations of the rights of military personnel, received an appeal regarding extortion of money and bullying in 22 military brigades. About this stated people’s deputy Anna Skorokhod, who headed the parliamentary TSK.
“We considered more than one brigade (we are talking about 211 brigade), this situation is not only in one brigade. During the period of activity of the TSK, we considered 22 such brigades, where they demanded money from servicemen and where they committed beatings or abuse.” Skorokhod noted.
According to her, not all cases have been confirmed. In those where the facts were proven, criminal cases were initiated and investigations were conducted. However, there is currently no access to investigation materials, as the period of activity of the TSC has ended.
In addition to these 22 brigades, Skorokhod is currently dealing with five more similar situations. She also drew attention to the problem of “coverage” in the Armed Forces. As an example, the case with the 211th brigade was given, where the first official investigation did not reveal any violations.
“There are many ways to conduct inspections, but we must state the fact that in most cases of inspections carried out by military units, they did not establish or find anything.” she explained.
