Contract killing for $15,000: a resident of Dnipropetrovsk region is suspected of a crime against his wife’s lover

Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an entrepreneur from the Kryvorizka District was notified of the suspicion of having committed an attempted contract murder (Part 2 of Article 15, Clause 11 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). About this informs press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the investigation, in June 2024, the suspect, motivated by long-term conflicts and jealousy of his wife, decided to order the murder of an acquaintance. To carry out the crime, he turned to a local resident, who was offered 15,000 US dollars for taking the life of the “victim”.

The suspect gave the executor a photograph of a potential victim, stressing that he was only interested in the result, and the method of execution was at the discretion of the “killer”.

However, the chosen executor turned to the law enforcement authorities, after which all further actions took place under their control. As part of the special operation, law enforcement officers staged a murder, prepared photographs that the intermediary showed to the customer as proof of the completion of the task.

The organizer was detained at the time of the transfer of part of the stipulated reward, in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.

Currently, the court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without bail. The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Department in the Dnipropetrovsk Region with the support of the Criminal Investigation Department.
