Donald Trump wants to conclude an agreement to end Russia’s war against Ukraine by August 8

US President Donald Trump wants to conclude an agreement on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine by August 8. About this reported high-ranking American diplomat John Kelly before 15 members of the UN Council.

“Both Russia and Ukraine must agree to a cease-fire and lasting peace. The time has come for a deal. President Trump has made it clear that this must be done by August 8. The United States is ready to take additional steps to ensure peace.”, – said John Kelly.

It will be recalled that on July 14, 2025, during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, US President Donald Trump stated that he is “very dissatisfied” with the leader of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and intends to introduce “very tough tariffs” if an agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine cannot be reached within 50 days.

Trump noted that Ukraine “wants to do something” for a cease-fire, and only talk is heard from the Russian side.

On July 28, Donald Trump in Scotland announced that he would shorten the deadline for Russia to end the war against Ukraine.

“10-12 days from today. There’s no point in waiting,” Trump emphasized.
