Due to a cyberattack, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed to close sole proprietorships without access to registers

On December 31, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a temporary decision that allows the closure of individual entrepreneurs (PEOs) in the face of technical problems with the Unified State Register (USR). The registry is currently down due to a Russian cyberattack. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Justice.
“According to the resolution, entrepreneurs can submit applications for a change of location or termination of business activity in paper form to any tax authority regardless of its location, as well as for the closure of a sole proprietorship in electronic form through the Diya portal,” – says the message.
The Ministry of Justice guarantees that after the restoration of the registry, the data will be updated with the preservation of the original dates of registration. It is also temporarily allowed to use the available data from the EDR, obtained before the access restriction, to check the civil legal capacity of entrepreneurs.
We will remind that after Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law on increasing the military levy, more than 22,000 FOPs closed their businesses. In December, the number of closings rose to 1,000 per day, compared to a normal rate of around 700.
