Due to pressure from the military administration, the acting mayor of Chernihiv resigned

Secretary of Chernihiv City Council and Acting Mayor Oleksandr Lomako stated about his decision to resign. In his address, he accused officials from the military administrations of having “taken the city hostage” on orders from “above.”
“Officials from the military administrations took the city hostage on instructions from above. Their condition was that Lomako must resign from his elected position. They told me in simple words that if I didn’t do it, they would plunge the city into chaos. And they showed me what would happen if I refused: disruption budget for 2025, a complete shutdown of the city’s largest hospital, a shutdown of meals in preschools, a complete shutdown of public transport, none kopecks for the armed forces and many other things. They besieged the city. If the price is my job, I will pay the price.”, – noted Oleksandr Lomako.
He also stated that “military administrators appointed from above” tried to destroy the system of local self-government in Chernihiv for two years.
“Two appointed from above, the so-called “military administrators”, together with some pests in uniform, who all this time only disgrace the security service with their actions, are trying to deal with local self-government. When they failed to block the work of the city council, the pests decided to simply paralyze the entire city.”, – he emphasized.
