EU Council allocates €3.5 billion tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine

The Council of the European Union approved the allocation of 3.5 billion euros to Ukraine in the form of non-refundable grants and loans. About this reported on the website of the Council of the EU.
The program is aimed at supporting macro-financial stability of Ukraine, as well as its restoration, reconstruction and modernization. Today, the Council of the EU recognized that Ukraine has fulfilled the necessary conditions for receiving a new tranche.
“Ukraine has successfully demonstrated that it has implemented 13 different steps. These include, among others, the implementation of reforms to increase the use of renewable energy sources; increasing the autonomy of the energy regulator; simplifying border crossing procedures in accordance with EU standards; adopting a strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas (including the elimination of landmines from agricultural areas); and continuing work on compiling a list of strategic and critical raw materials.” – the message says.
We will remind that the European Union proposes to create a voluntary fund of 20 to 40 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine. This is to avoid a possible veto by Hungary.
