Fico accused the Georgian Legion of organizing anti-government protests in Slovakia

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, accused the “Georgian Legion”, which is fighting in Ukraine against Russian aggression, of being involved in anti-government protests in his country. Fico could not explain how the commander of a unit fighting on the side of Ukraine could organize protests in Slovakia, but accused the media of trying to destabilize his government.
The head of the Slovak Information Service (SIS), Pavol Gaspar, said that the intelligence revealed the connections of the “Georgian Legion” with public organizations and the opposition, although he did not provide details. According to him, a special group was created for the investigation, which included law enforcement officers, financial analysts and employees of special services.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Slovakia, Matus Šutaj Eštok, said that in addition to Mamulashvili, 10 more people were banned from entering the country. He also noted that the list could be expanded.
