Fico accused Ukraine of involvement in a cyberattack on Slovakia

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, said that the country’s national insurance company suffered a massive cyber attack, for which Ukraine may be responsible. About this informsDennik N.

At an urgent press conference, Fico said that the attack began at noon and was aimed at obtaining “confidential information about diagnoses.”

“If successful, it will make it impossible to provide medical care in Slovakia. As of now, we are successfully repelling the attack, but we cannot fully assess what will happen in the coming minutes and hours.”, the prime minister noted.

Fico described the attack as part of a “classic scenario of eliminating recalcitrant governments with an independent stance” and said Ukraine was allegedly behind it. He also accused the opposition, non-governmental organizations, foreign instructors, the state and the mass media of being involved in such actions.

According to experts, it is not actually a cyber attack on a national insurance company, but phishing — fraudulent attempts to obtain confidential information.
