In Brazil, they responded to Zelensky’s criticism by hinting at possible losses of Ukraine

Sanctions and attempts to isolate Russia can worsen the situation in Ukraine, warned the ambassador of Brazil in Kyiv, Rafael de Melu Vidal, in an interview for Metrópoles. He stated that Brazil opposes the international isolation of any of the parties to the conflict, both Russia and Ukraine, as these measures can only increase tensions.
The diplomat stressed that Brazil has no intention of changing its neutrality in this conflict. He believes that abandoning a neutral position will not benefit Ukraine, but, on the contrary, may complicate the settlement process. According to the ambassador, maintaining neutrality allows Brazil to offer a platform for dialogue, which remains an important tool for conflict resolution.
“The best way for Brazil to remain neutral, because in the case of refusing neutrality, we will not have enough military and financial resources to influence the course of the war. In addition, Kyiv may lose an important tool that Brazil offers – an opportunity for dialogue and interaction with Moscow”, said the ambassador.
He added that Brazil has always advocated a peaceful resolution of the conflict and is actively looking for ways to achieve peace. The country’s authorities do not support aggressive rhetoric and calls for escalation of hostilities, and, as the ambassador assured, Brazil has no intention of joining military alliances or agreements.
