“China’s peace plan is the only reasonable initiative towards Ukraine”: Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić strongly supported China’s “peace plan” for Ukraine, calling it a “common sense initiative” that deserves the attention of the international community.
In a television interview, Vuchich stated, that China’s proposal is the most reasonable of all those proposed since the beginning of the conflict.
“The People’s Republic of China has proposed something that is truly the most logical thing that any grown-up, collected and sane person would propose. No sane person can refuse such a thing, but as you can see, there is silence on all sides, as if it was proposed by Serbia or some a smaller country, so now they can keep quiet and underestimate“, Vuchich added.
the leader expressed regret over the silent reaction of most international players to the Chinese initiative, in particular the participants of the Peace Summit in Switzerland. He emphasized that many countries refuse to recognize the logic and expediency of the Chinese proposal, which, in his opinion, is the only possible way to a peaceful settlement.
Vuchich’s position contradicts the official position of Ukraine, which considers President Zelenskyi’s “peace formula” the only basis for peace negotiations. China’s approach, which calls for an immediate ceasefire, has not found widespread support among international organizations.
Despite this, Vučić confirmed that Serbia will continue to support any initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region, regardless of their origin.
