For the first time, Iran handed Russia the latest aerial bombs for strikes on Ukraine: media

German publication Bild informs, that Iran handed over the latest Qaem-5 guided air bombs to Russia. This is evidenced by the data obtained as a result of the analysis of the video recording from the crash site of the Iranian Mohajer-6 drone in the Kursk region.

The footage shows that the drone, which was probably headed for an attack on the Sumy region of Ukraine, was carrying Qaem-5 guided bombs previously unseen in the war against Ukraine.

Bild military expert Julian Repke believes that the use of such weapons indicates the deepening of military cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

BBC News confirms that the munition in the photo and video is indeed very similar to the Qaem-5, a small-diameter cruise bomb that can be mounted on Iran’s Mohajer-6 and Hamaseh drones.

Qaem-5 has television guidance, a flight range of up to 40 km and can be equipped with various types of warheads. In Iran, this bomb was adopted in 2019.
