For the first time since the start of the full-scale war, the Verkhovna Rada sessions began to be broadcast live (video)

For the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada is broadcast live on the Parliament’s official YouTube channel.
Three years ago, the parliament decided to stop the broadcasts for security reasons, although some people’s deputies continued to show the proceedings on their social networks.
“The meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on the return of the independence of NABU and SAP will be broadcast online on the parliament’s YouTube channel. Our demand was heard and, at least partially, implemented. Congratulations to all involved. Tune in from 12:00 and monitor the parliament. I hope this is the first step towards the resumption of online broadcasts. We have an agreement with the head of the Verkhovna Rada to find a solution for this.”, — said Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech.
In the Anti-Corruption Center notedthat thanks to the open broadcast, more citizens will be able to directly follow the discussion of the draft law on the return of the powers of NABU and SAP.
At the same time, a rally is taking place under the building of the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv, where people’s deputies are supposed to consider the draft law on NABU and SAP. More than a hundred participants came to the rally with the demand to ensure the independence of both anti-corruption institutions by adopting the relevant law.
Protesters hold placards with the following slogans: “Don’t repeat the shame”, “I want my students to build democracy, not fight an authoritarian regime”, “Don’t take a step back – there is an abyss”, “Please pass something normal” and others.
