Ukrenergo specialists were able to restore the damaged ZNPP high-voltage line
Repair crews of “Ukrenergo” quickly removed damage to the high-voltage power line that supplies power to the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP). About this reported in the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
“Energy workers returned to operation one of the power lines of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which was damaged as a result of Russian shelling. Despite the difficult safety conditions for carrying out emergency work in this area, the power engineers promptly restored the operation of the line. Powering a nuclear plant with one line is extremely dangerous, because the power supply of such an object must be stable and uninterrupted. Only its return to the control of Ukraine can guarantee the safe operation of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.”, – said the Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko.
As of now, the Zaporizhzhia NPP is supplied with electricity by both the main and reserve high-voltage lines. Restoring power to the ZNPP was an important step in ensuring the stable operation of critical infrastructure.
However, the situation remains dangerous due to constant threats from the Russian troops, who are systematically shelling the power system facilities. Ukrainian specialists continue to make maximum efforts to maintain the stable operation of the power grid even in conditions of occupation and hostilities.
