Former Defense Ministry official suspected of supplying defective anti-tank weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

To a former official of the Ministry of Defense and two former managers of a defense enterprise reported about the suspicion in the case regarding the supply of unusable anti-tank missile systems to the Armed Forces. Damages caused to the state exceed 90 million hryvnias.

Procedural management in criminal proceedings is carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor General. The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine under the operational support of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the ex-head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Defense and two former heads of the defense enterprise were involved in the organization of the scheme for the supply of unusable weapons. All three were notified of suspicion under the articles of ch. 2 Art. 114-1, ch. 5th century 191 and ch. 2 Art. 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The higher anti-corruption court has already chosen preventive measures for the former managers of the enterprise — bail in the amount of 908.4 thousand. UAH and 575.32 thousand UAH, respectively. Regarding the ex-officer of the Ministry of Defense, a petition was submitted for a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 5.011 million. Consideration of this petition is scheduled for July 7.

We would like to remind you that in accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by law and confirmed by a court verdict.
