Former head of the Federal Security Service, Roman Nasirov, was released from the pretrial detention center on bail of 55 million hryvnias

The higher anti-corruption court released the former head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, Roman Nasirov, from custody after posting a bail of 55 million hryvnias for him.

Nasirov has been in custody since October 2022. He is suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of over 722 million hryvnias for assisting in the reimbursement of VAT to companies related to the owner of a large agricultural holding. The actions of the ex-head of the SFS are qualified under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining illegal benefits by an official).
After leaving the SIZO, Nasirov is obliged to comply with a number of procedural obligations, in particular:
- Deposit foreign passports
- Wear an electronic bracelet
- Do not leave Kyiv without court permission
- Do not communicate with certain persons determined by the court
