Four People’s Deputies bought housing for tens of millions of hryvnias during the war: investigation

Despite the war and the general deterioration of living standards in Ukraine, some politicians continue to increase their fortunes. Thus, after the beginning of the Russian invasion, four deputies acquired new expensive real estate properties worth tens of millions of hryvnias.
This is reported in the journalistic investigation BihusInfo, which features People’s Deputies Artur Gerasimov and Serhii Alekseev (“European Solidarity”), Ihor Palitsa (“For the Future”) and Pavlo Pavlish (“Servant of the People”).
According to the investigation, in July 2022, the wife of Artur Gerasimov bought a new house with a plot of land of 30 acres in the village of Plyuty, near Kyiv. Although the value of the real estate in the declaration is a little less than 3 million hryvnias, journalists claim that houses of similar size in the area can cost up to 500,000 dollars.

Next to the Gerasimovs’ estate is the real estate of the family of Igor Palitsa, which owns more than a hectare of land. The deputy’s son even has his own tennis court and beach. According to journalists’ calculations, the value of the land alone may amount to 75 million hryvnias, however, this real estate is not mentioned in Palitsa’s declaration.

In 2023, Serhii Alekseev’s mother bought a mansion with an area of 1,000 square meters on a plot of 75 acres in the nearby village of Kozyn. According to the journalists, according to the declaration, the people’s deputy himself uses this house. Similar estates in the area can cost upwards of $1 million.

Also, after 2022, a new house in the cottage town “Nova Khodosivka” appeared in Pavlish’s family. At that time, such houses were worth about 8 million hryvnias, but the value of the real estate was not specified in the declaration of the People’s Deputy. Pavlish himself explained that the land was bought by his father, who built the house himself, which is why he cannot estimate its exact value.
Journalists draw attention to the fact that, according to real estate sites, it is impossible to purchase only a plot in “Nova Khodosivka” — the purchase is made together with the cottage, which casts doubt on the version of a separate construction.
