France’s leading container carrier resumed flights to Odesa

One of France’s leading container shipping companies, CMA CGM, has resumed flights to the Brooklyn-Kyiv Port terminal in Odesa Seaport. About this reported Viktor Berestenko, president of the Association of International Freight Forwarders of Ukraine.

The first since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the ship “Lila Canada” entered the port on February 7, and the next voyage is expected on February 21. “CMA CGM” became the second large container company that resumed service of the Odesa port with its own fleet.

The company organized a direct sea connection between Greece and Ukraine, which covers the route Piraeus – Istanbul – Odesa.  At the beginning of February, the Turkish company “Medkon Lines” also resumed container transportation to Odessa.

We will remind that in July last year, the first container ship of the world’s largest container line Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC, Switzerland) arrived in Odesa since the beginning of the full-scale war.

The restoration of shipping to the ports of Great Odesa, in particular to the Black Sea Sea Fishing Port and Odesa Port, contributed to the fact that sea container traffic in Ukraine in 2024 almost doubled compared to 2023, reaching 129,902 TEU.
