Petro Poroshenko’s wife appealed to the court to divide their joint property

Deputy of the Kyiv City Council and former First Lady Maryna Poroshenko filed a lawsuit in court with a request to divide joint property with Petro Poroshenko. Relevant information contains in the court register.
The lawsuit was registered on March 27, 2025, and the preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for April 29. The consideration of the case will take place according to the general rules of the claim proceedings, since the amount of the claim is 17,102,703,811.40 hryvnias — which significantly exceeds the limits established for the simplified consideration.
Petro Poroshenko’s lawyer Ihor Golovan noted that he cannot provide more information than is indicated in the court register.
“Divorce is a separate process, and property processes are separate processes,” – he explained, hinting that the filed lawsuit does not mean the dissolution of the marriage.
We will remind that on February 13, 2025, Petro Poroshenko found himself under sanctions along with a number of other persons — Igor Kolomoisky, Gennady Bogolyubov, Kostyantyn Zhevago, and Viktor Medvedchuk. The Security Service of Ukraine explained that the sanctions were imposed indefinitely due to threats to state security, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country, as well as for creating obstacles to sustainable economic development.
Poroshenko is suspected of treason and facilitating the activities of terrorist organizations. He himself claims that he has become a victim of political persecution, and calls the sanctions part of a wider campaign related to the government’s preparations for the elections.
