From January 1, businesses will be fined for using old-style fiscal checks

From January 1, 2025, entrepreneurs face significant fines for using settlement transaction registrars (PRO/PRRO) with old fiscal checks. In the event of a violation, the business may be fined an amount equal to 100% of the value of the infringing goods sold.

About this stated Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Nina Yuzhanina.

She noted that from December 17, 2024, Order No. 601 of the Ministry of Finance dated November 22, 2024, which provides for updating the form and content of fiscal checks, entered into force. Yuzhanina explained that it is allowed to issue checks using the old form only until January 1, 2025, and for duty-free shops – until March 16, 2025.

Nardepka emphasized that the development and approval of the new order took more than a year, but only 14 days were allocated for software adaptation and reprogramming of the PRO/PRRO.

“However, the unreality of these terms does not change the fact that after January 1, 2025, in the case of issuing a fiscal check in the old form, such a check will not be considered a settlement document and the trader may be fined in the amount of 100% of the value of the goods sold with violations for the first violation and 150% – for the following (a certain category of FOP-simplified – 25% and 50%, respectively)”, – emphasized Yuzhanina.
