The state compensated employers for 270 million hryvnias for the employment of IDPs

The state has paid 270 million hryvnias to employers as part of the compensation program for the employment of more than 13,000 internally displaced persons since the beginning of 2024. About this reported Tetyana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

“Since the beginning of this year, almost 10,000 employers have received compensation from the Government for employing 13,400 Ukrainians who were forced to move from dangerous regions of the country. More than half a thousand of them are people with disabilities. 270 million UAH have been transferred to entrepreneurs under the compensation program. Through this program we reduce labor market barriers for internally displaced persons, help them to get a job faster and adapt to a new place”, says the message.

Compensation for employers for employment of persons with IDP status obtained after February 24, 2022 is 8 thousand hryvnias. In order to receive payments, the employer must conclude an employment contract, including part-time, or a gig contract with the migrant and submit an application through the Diya Portal or in paper form to the employment center. A package of necessary documents is attached to the application.

The compensation program for the employment of IDPs was introduced by the government for the entire duration of martial law. Its goal is to accelerate the adaptation of displaced persons in safe regions and increase their employment level. For each employed migrant, the employer receives compensation in the amount of the minimum salary (from April 1, 2024 – 8,000 hryvnias) for three months, and for employment of persons with disabilities – for six months. The largest number of immigrants under this program were employed in the Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv.
