Fuel prices in Ukraine have been declining for the third month in a row

In April 2025 in Ukraine continued gradual decrease in the price of fuel — positive price dynamics for consumers were observed for the third month in a row. The key factor was the decline in global oil prices, which affected both the import price and domestic wholesale offers.

In foreign markets, oil prices fell significantly, with Brent crude down 15% and WTI down 16%, marking the sharpest monthly decline since November 2021. In Ukraine, this was primarily reflected in diesel fuel, which on the wholesale market became cheaper by UAH 1.85/l, i.e. by more than 4%, to an average mark of UAH 42.81/l.

In the southern regions of the country, its price approached the psychological level of UAH 40/l. Liquefied gas also showed a decrease: the price dropped by UAH 1.12/l, or by 3.55%, and reached UAH 30.43/l. Instead, A-95 gasoline on the wholesale market rose in price by UAH 0.39/l (0.85%), up to UAH 45.86/l.

At gas stations, the situation also turned out to be beneficial for consumers. Diesel fuel lost 0.42 hryvnias/l, down to 53.41 hryvnias/l, and A-95 gasoline fell by 0.67 hryvnias/l, to the level of 54.80 hryvnias/l. Autogas showed the most noticeable decrease: its average price fell by UAH 0.80/l and amounted to UAH 35.03/l.

Easter discounts from national chains also helped to lower prices. Thus, OKKO and WOG temporarily reduced the price of regular gasoline and diesel by UAH 5/l, premium fuel — by UAH 2/l, autogas — by UAH 2.5/l. Shell went even further, offering a discount of up to UAH 5.76/l.

Among the regional gas stations, Longo (Kropivnytskyi) and “Peron” (Cherkasy) stood out with activity, which reduced prices by 1-2 UAH/l. The state company “Ukrnafta” also joined the price competition: on the eve of the holidays, it reduced the price of fuel by UAH 1/l, autogas – by UAH 0.5/l, and announced a “discount drive” campaign – until the end of May, drivers who pay with Mastercard cards from OTP Bank receive a discount of UAH 7/l.

As a result, April brought significant relief for drivers across the country. The market responded quickly to global price fluctuations, and competition between networks ensured a flexible approach to pricing. If global trends do not change, the decline may continue in May.
