First pharmacy in Ukraine to receive permission to vaccinate against influenza
For the first time in Ukraine, a pharmacy received official permission to carry out flu vaccinations directly at the pharmacy. About this informs Ministry of Health.
The first pharmacy that joined this initiative is located in Kyiv at the address of st. Velika Vasylkivska, 84/20, room 3.
To get a flu shot at a pharmacy, you must:
- get a prescription for a vaccine from a family doctor (possibly remotely);
- contact a pharmacy that has a license to carry out vaccinations;
- buy a vaccine at a pharmacy;
- fill out consent for vaccination;
- get vaccinated directly at the pharmacy;
- wait 30 minutes after vaccination and get a certificate;
- hand over the vaccination certificate to the family doctor.
The Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko and the head of the WHO Bureau in Ukraine Jarno Habikht were among the first to use this service. Lyashko emphasized that the success of this initiative depends on the active involvement of pharmacies, noting that the partnership of the state and business is the key to the development of such programs.
The Ministry of Health also reports that French and Korean influenza vaccines have been available in pharmacies since the beginning of October. They are certified and passed state quality control.
Previously, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed specially trained pharmacists to carry out preventive vaccinations in pharmacies, which became an important step in the availability of vaccination for citizens.
