G7 expressed concern over investigation against NABU employees

The Group of Seven (G7) expressed concern about the situation surrounding the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about an investigation that concerns a number of NABU employees who are suspected of committing criminal offenses. About this it is said in the statement of G7AmbReformUA.

G7 representatives held a meeting with the leadership of NABU, during which they expressed deep concern about the events. They also emphasized their intention to discuss the situation directly with the Ukrainian government.

“We all have a common obligation to support transparency, independent institutions and good governance. We highly value our partnership with Ukraine in the joint fight against corruption.”, – the statement emphasizes.

We will remind you that on July 21, the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Prosecutor General’s Office conducted at least 70 searches related to the activities of 15 NABU employees. As noted in the press services of the SBU, OGP and NABU, the investigative actions were carried out without a court sanction.

NABU detectives conducted searches in various regions. They are charged with treason, illegal trade with Russia, and corruption schemes in the interests of certain oligarchs. Subsequently, NABU confirmed the authenticity of this information.

The Prosecutor General’s Office informed that Ruslan Magamedrasulov, the head of one of the territorial departments of NABU detectives, was detained together with the SBU. A high-ranking official is being informed of suspicion of aiding the aggressor state in accordance with Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
