Generators and batteries will not become cheaper, despite the abolition of taxes and duties on imports – People’s Deputy

Diesel generators were not included in the simplified regime of customs payments for import.

Generators and batteries will not become cheaper for Ukrainians, despite the new law on the abolition of taxes and duties on the import of energy equipment. People’s deputy Oleksandr Fedienko announced this on his Facebook page.

“The laws do promote the abolition of taxes and duties, but only if you import these goods for your own use. Companies that import generators and batteries for sale can do so without paying VAT, but cannot sell these goods to end consumers without VAT Therefore, a decrease in prices for generators and batteries for the population should not be expected“, the people’s deputy explained, referring to the clarification from the tax office.

We will remind you that the new law also cancels the duty on the production of machines for mechanized demining and the import of equipment to create countermeasures against technical intelligence.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy introduces soft loans for electrical equipment for private individuals and households. These programs provide interest-free loans for citizens to install energy equipment with a capacity of up to 10 kW, as well as loans for businesses from UAH 150 million for the development of alternative generation and other purposes.
