Germany and Great Britain will transfer 220 thousand cartridges for Gepard to Ukraine: Pistorius

Ukraine will receive thousands of 35 mm cartridges for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun system from the allies. Germany, together with Great Britain, will transfer 220,000 cartridges in the shortest possible time. About this during the opening of the online meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format reported German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

“In order to protect the skies over Ukraine, we must support the Ukrainian armed forces in their offensive efforts to weaken Russia’s combat capabilities in the area of action. That is why we are financing the comprehensive purchase of Ukrainian-made long-range drones. These systems are already proving their value on the battlefield.” – said Pistorius.

He also noted that this is why the German government is financing the large-scale purchase of long-range Ukrainian drones, which have already proven their effectiveness in combat. The head of the German defense department added that the first complexes of such drones will arrive in Ukraine in the coming days and will be ready for immediate use.

In turn, British Defense Minister John Geely announced that his country would continue to provide support to Ukraine, including by handing over 50,000 drones of various types. In addition, Great Britain will continue to provide financial assistance to Ukraine.

“We are continuing to deliver on this promise, including £700m for artillery shells, long-range missiles and anti-missile defenses, of which £150m has been provided in the last two months.”, – emphasized John Gilly.
