Germany denied rumors about blocking military aid to Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius denied the information of some media about the alleged blocking by Chancellor Olaf Scholz of a new military aid package for Ukraine. About this informs Daily Mirror.

“There is no blockade. We have prepared a new aid package for Ukraine at the Ministry of Defense. This must now be resolved politically.”, – assured Pistorius, expressing expectations for a positive decision.

It will be recalled that earlier the edition “Spiegel” reported that Scholz is allegedly blocking a large aid package proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. This package should include three batteries of the IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile complex with ammunition, missiles for the Patriot air defense system, ten wheeled howitzers and artillery ammunition.

Pistorius emphasized that the final decision on the transfer of these weapons is already at the final stage of discussion, and expressed confidence in its positive adoption. In addition, the German Minister of Defense announced new deliveries of air defense systems and armored vehicles to Ukraine. It is also planned to train 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Germany during the year.
