Government approves resolution on financing expanded list of free medical services for veterans

Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine passed resolution on financing from the state budget an expanded range of free medical services for war veterans at the level of primary medical care.

“This project was launched in 2025 jointly by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSHU). Financing will be carried out within the framework of the KPKVK budget program 1501120, which is provided for in the 2025 state budget to support war veterans and their families.” – says the message of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

Within the framework of this initiative, combatants who have completed their service and persons with disabilities as a result of the war will be able to use a list of free medical services. In particular, it is about personalized treatment with the formation of an individual plan taking into account the medical condition and concomitant diseases; extended screening examinations to identify conditions that may be associated with the consequences of hostilities.

The list also includes psychological support in the form of individual and group sessions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and stress-reduction programs. Treatment of combat injuries and chronic pathologies with the participation of specialized doctors, such as an orthopedist or a neurologist, is also provided; rehabilitation measures for recovery after injuries or illnesses, as well as therapy of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, including arthritis, arthrosis and other joint injuries.
