HACCU continues investigation in case of men’s illegal travel abroad

The Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HCC) extended to seven months the term of the pre-trial investigation in the case of the judge of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky City and District Court of the Odesa Region Oleksandr Boyarsky, who is suspected of receiving an illegal benefit in the amount of USD 3,000, and the lawyer Stanislav Klymenko, who is accused of organizing a scheme to pass court orders decisions for the departure of conscripted men abroad. Such a decision was adopted by VAX on September 25.

“The request of the senior detective of the National NABU is to be granted. To extend the term of the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings, in which the suspicion (Boyarsky – ed.) of committing criminal offenses provided for in part 3 of article 368, part 5 of article 27, part 3 Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine… up to seven months”, says the court decision.

Earlier, the anti-corruption court arrested Klymenko’s lawyer, offering an alternative in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 9.08 million.

It will be recalled that the NABU and SAP announced the suspicion of judge Oleksandr Boyarskyi for participating in the scheme, which provided for the adoption of court decisions regarding the determination of the place of residence of minor children with their father. This decision was used as a basis for the father to go abroad with the child. “Clients” for such judgments were sought through social networks, and the cost of each judgment ranged from 1,500 to 3,500 USD.

The investigation established that in 2022-2023, more than 1,000 similar decisions were made in this court. There were cases when men went abroad without a child, as well as forgery of documents and interference with the system of automated distribution of cases. One of the judges was documented receiving $1,500 for promising to make the necessary decision.
