How to issue payments to single mothers and fathers in 2024?

Mothers and fathers who raise a child independently are protected by the social insurance system. The state provides payments, the amount of which varies depending on the age of the child. Previously, it was possible to apply for assistance only by contacting the territorial social protection bodies or the Center for the provision of administrative services. Parents can now fill out the documents online.
You can get the corresponding service on the Diya portal. The entire procedure, including authorization and filling out forms, takes about 30 minutes.
Importantly: Single mothers who are not married, single adoptive parents have the right to child support for single mothers, if there is no record of the father (mother) in the child’s birth certificate or the child’s birth document.
What documents are required for assistance?
- A copy of the child’s birth certificate.
- Decision on adoption of a child (for adopters).
- An extract from the State Register of Civil Status Acts of Citizens about the state registration of a child’s birth, issued by the Department of State Registration of Civil Status Acts, or a birth certificate issued by the executive body of the village, settlement, city (except cities of regional significance) councils, indicating the reason for entering information about the father of the child to the act record of the child’s birth, or a birth document issued by a competent authority of a foreign state.

- Declaration of income and property status of persons who have applied for the appointment of all types of social assistance.
- A certificate of income in the event that income is indicated in the income declaration, information about which is not available in the State Tax Service, the Pension Fund or other state registers.
- A copy of the death certificate of one of the spouses and a certificate that they do not receive the specified pensions and state social assistance for the children (for the mother (father) of the children in the event of the death of one of the parents, who (who) does not receive a pension for them in the event of loss breadwinner (if necessary).

Amount of payments to single mothers or fathers in 2024
The maximum payment for a child under the age of 6 is currently UAH 2,563 per month. Children aged 6 to 18 are paid up to UAH 3,196. After reaching the age of 18, payments stop. However, if the child is studying at a university, payments continue until graduation or until the 23rd birthday.
