Hungary will not block NATO aid to Ukraine: Stoltenberg

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the Hungarian authorities “will not block” the Alliance’s assistance to Ukraine.

According to Stoltenberg, he agreed on this with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán during negotiations June 12.

At the same time, according to him, Hungarian funds and personnel will not be used to support Ukraine.

At the same time, the Prime Minister assured me that Hungary will not oppose these efforts, allowing other allies to move forward, and he confirmed that Hungary will continue to fully fulfill its commitments to NATO.”– added the general secretary.

At the same press conference, Orbán confirmed that Hungary will not block the support that the Alliance provides to Ukraine. NATO makes all of its decisions by consensus, effectively giving any of its 32 allies veto power.
